Rewind, a company out of Indio, California, is in love with all things industrial, and has a knack for seeing the importance of what others have forgotten or neglected. Designer Carlos Montanaro embraces a 19th-century "steampunk" style aesthetic by upcycling vintage timepieces and redesigning them to expose their complex inner workings, and so reveal a mechanical art that has been lost to the ages, as the analog era has been pushed aside by digitalization and electronics.
Rewind's pieces are turned into necklaces, rings, and bracelets, allowing wearers to show off more than just sheer beauty, but pieces of history that represent the early revolutionary sparks of the modern industrial era, predecessors to the technologies we take for granted today, and a testament to the great craftsmanship of humankind.
